So, for preselection, do you think we'll be able to quickly name a default character with our name, then 'delete' it to re-create in under 5 minutes? That's my plan. :)

I'm excited, I've only been able to pick the (short and common) name that I want once, In SWG: Rain. This time I'm going for something different, but it will be a short cute name. Guess I'm partial to short names, being that my RL name is only 4 letters too.

No more 'Ainwe' that sounds a lil too much like Amway. hehe
I'll prolly also recreate my Family account to get a new user name.

Hmmm, Just had another thought, what are we going to name our family on Aion? I assume Gaiscioch, but I also know we have other rooms of the Family also going to play Aion, will they be okay with that name? Or should we name ourselves after our Alliance name, Treubh? Just wondering. :)

Can we use that awesome squiggley circle for our Legion Icon? I really like it. Family Logo But perhaps in more contrasty colors so the circle really POPs off the cloak. And I doubt the text would be readable on it, but maybe overlay some other image over the circle in it's place? Brainstorming is fun. :D

The logo will look smaller but still sooler than that small cape.
The logo also appear on shields... ;)

I see a lot of really great aesthetic emblems from that link! I like how many use high contrast! But toooo many of them have wings in them. Way too many wings.

Me and one other girl did the first two closed betas together and paid and formed a rank 2 legion by the end of CB2 - I think rank 2 cost 120k kinah which is nothing by the time you hit 20. So we should probably be rank three within 2 weeks of launch no problem. I plan on hitting the gathering really fierce and donating a good portion of those funds if needed.

Computer appears to be running and the move is going pretty smooth. Not sure if I will be on tonight since there's still a lot to put away and at least one more Wal Mart trip to make :)

I will make a Twilah :D The rest will ba bank alts with names like Cerbanthenmanmaner, so when you get mail from them you can go "WTF??!!"

Don't remember my SWG server, but I was race with the tatoos and horns, and I was a smuggler class. Stood all day in the city slicing weapons and armor for people. SWG would have been okay if I was more into SCI FI and if the people there realized SWG wasn't a SOLO game. Fools, Most of them had the single player mentality.

And I hate how it keeps launching its web page when you close. I really hope it doesnt do that at launch

Finally got in. Arkathos (Priest) and Arkathor (Warrior). See you guys Tuesday, or maybe Monday night.

Well when I log in I find a 6 friggin hour queue time on Zikel and a 4 hour queue time on the other server - if this is what it's going to be like - I won't be playing. I have several games I can play and I'm not going to stare at a screen. It may lighten up after a while, but one of the reasons I quit WOW was because every time I logged in I had a wait time of 30 mins to 2 hours. If I quit them for an average wait time of around 1 hour - sure won't be playing Aion with a wait time of 5 hours.

If I sound bitter - probably am - WOW did that with their queues - and my first experience with Aion is a queue 3 x longer than any I had in WOW... my stomach was turning when I saw over 3000 people in line in front of me.

My thoughts:

1)It seems to me, through this thread and others, everyone needs to step back and take a deep breath. The game isnt even public yet.

2) nobody expects anyone to wait 3000 ppl/5 hrs to play a game. I dont expect this will continue for long or everyone leaves the game.

3)I dont think ppl seem/appear/are angry. I think you are frustrated and I understand this.

4)As of now, its been 4 and 1/2 hours into the HEADSTART, again, pls take a deep breath. Your going to be okay.

Like I said - I am made bitter from past experiences with queues. If Aion has queue times and I log in and find 30min to an hour wait - I just won't play. I have other games that don't have queues that I also enjoy. It appears that Aion will have them - I don't like them.

The only way to alleviate them is to move to a different server when it opens up - but if the game is popular - and everything appears that it will be - then there will eventually be queues on that server as well. I use to log into WOW as soon as I got home for work and then go make and eat dinner - then go back to my computer to still find 30 mins left on the queue. With 3 other games loaded on my computer and a PS3 sitting in my living room I won't pay a monthly fee to wait in queues.

Now - if after 2 weeks (I have already paid full pice for the game - so 1 free month) they eliminate the queues and the entire family is all happy and settled in - then I will play. In the meantime I have better uses of my time.

And don't forget - I am old - I don't have that much time left to waste it in a line or 3000.

Yeah I decided to play Elyos on Kais today instead of trying to get on our server. No waiting there at all.

when did you get in? I got in right at servers coming up. But made the mistake of quiting. came back 15 minutes later and could not get in.

You know what other game had queues when it first launched?
Warhammer Online. Then they created lots of servers to solve the problem.
And we all know what happened after that...

It's launch day. Everyone logging at the exact same time. It wont happen often. If it does, they will need to increase server capacity. They have those little things called "channels" that they can multiply, creating as many instances of a zone as needed.

Yeah, I have faith in this game. =)

400K people tried to log in yesterday. That's why I didn't want to play the game (Plus, it's T4 night -that's my priority- and I have 63 comic books to read). Tomorrow, might be the same as well. Although I hope they've already fixed the issue.

But, anyways, it might be awhile before I could really enjoy this game. You know, when the hype dies down and goons are all grown up.

By the way... did you guys checked their website? You can login and see how many levels you did in wich day, with pretty line graphics... you can check your char 3d model online with actual gear... your can check your trade broker sales, ingame mail everything in your browser. they are doing a great job over there.

I too have had my issues with the queue, but its still prelaunch so i am willing to take it with a grain of salt. Couldn't play yesterday afternoon, got in for about an hour when i got off work at 6 am, and couldn't play this afternoon. When you only have an hour or so to play, and the queue says 30 min, then 15 min later says 36 min, it kinda sux. But Skyefox is lvl 3! shes makin her way in the world. :D

I didn't play WAR at launch - I'll still give it a go - and hopefully it all works out.

I hope I can log in tonight. But if I can't, I'll just queue scenarios in WAR and read comics while I wait for a pop.

But if I can't log in tomorrow, then I'll probably trash my room and spray some graffiti on my neighbors' privacy fences. I took a 4 day off just to play this game. It would really really suck if I can't play it at launch.

If you took 4 days off when are you planning on playing? Which timezone you in?

It didn't get a queue until after 4 PM Eastern today.

Expecting the nights to be horrid for a week or so. Going to play during day and at night try to get in some WAR action(or watch the new tv shows with the wife)

OK how to I join up with the legion?

I got in today after waiting for three hours. I didn't mind the wait though since I was burning through my comics. Then I logged out after I played for, what like seems to be, 15 min.

@Bashir: Happy B-day man (My B-day was exactly a week ago from yours, WAR and I have the same B-day). I won't be playing early tomorrow since I'm going to get all my errands done, and for the GF too. I'll probably be around 6PM Eastern. Although I'll be playing early in the morning (6-7 AM Eastern) on Wed and Thu, and try to finish Batman: Arkham Asylum during those nights. Friday, GF is off from work so I'm not sure.

I saw the three hour queue last night and ended up rolling an Elyos on a west coast server with low population. Even in WOW's heyday I've never seen a game queue that lasted longer than 30 minutes and refuse to wait longer than that. Hopefully Zikel will calm down soon.
It would be nice if folks would stop sitting around with private stores and say "AFK" because they don't want to log out. NCSoft needs to work on that private store system and come up with something like SWG had or folks are just going to stay perma-logged in.

You guys need to learn to plan ahead. I didn't had to wait more than 10 minutes.
You have to work? Learn how to VPN your computer at home from work and queue about 1 hour before going home.

Or just do like Lilly... log at early morning and play all day long!!!! LOL!

Or, if you're like me, just grab a book or a NDS while waiting for queue.

Or play Warhammer :)
